Privacy Policy

Effective 25 August 2026. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Introduction

This policy explains what information Hattricks collects when you use hattrickstavern.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is effective as of 25 August 2026 and replaces our previous policy of 13 March 2023.

Hattricks (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. We collect as little as we can, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you send us a message through our contact form, we receive your first and last name, your email address, the subject you select, and your message. We use it to reply to you. Sending a message also adds your name and email address to our mailing list, as the form explains; see “Our mailing list” below.

Information your browser sends

Like most websites, our server records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, your browser type and version, which pages you viewed, when, and any errors you encountered. On its own this does not identify you, though in combination with other information it sometimes can.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. It sets cookies in your browser and records the pages you view, how long you spend on them, roughly where you are connecting from, and the type of device and browser you are using. Our measurement identifier is G-4V09VZZ1VC.

We use this only in aggregate, to see which parts of the site are useful and which are not. We do not use it to identify you personally, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. Google Signals is switched off on our property, we do not collect age or gender information, and we have no Google Ads account linked to it.

If you would rather not be included, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every site you visit. Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies.

Maps

Our locations page shows a map provided by Google Maps. Loading it means your device contacts Google directly and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. This happens whether or not you interact with the map. What Google does with that information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy rather than this one.

Spam protection

Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell real people from automated spam. When you open the contact page, your device contacts Google, and reCAPTCHA collects information such as your IP address, details of your browser and device, and how you interact with the page, and it may set cookies. Google uses this to judge whether a message was sent by a person. What Google does with it is governed by Google’s own privacy policy and terms rather than this one.

Remembering which location you chose

Hattricks has two locations, so the site asks which one you want whenever you do something that depends on it, such as looking at a menu or ordering. If you pick one and leave the “remember my choice” box ticked, we store that choice in your own browser under the name hatLocation.

It is stored on your device only. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, it holds nothing but the name of the location you picked, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it. You can change it at any time using the Locations control in the site header.

Our mailing list

We send our email newsletter through Constant Contact. When you join it through our contact form, your name and email address are passed to Constant Contact, which stores them and sends our emails on our behalf. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops all future mailings. We do not sell the list or share it with anyone else.

Ordering, merchandise and social media

Ordering online, buying merchandise and our social media profiles are run by other companies on their own websites. Following one of those links takes you off our site, and what happens after that is governed by their privacy policies rather than this one.

Who else sees your information

We share personal information only with:

  • service providers who need it to run the site for us: our hosting company, our analytics and spam protection provider (Google), and our email newsletter provider (Constant Contact)
  • our own staff and contractors, where they need it to do their work
  • courts, regulators and law enforcement, where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it. Contact form messages are kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data is retained according to the period set in our Google Analytics property. When information is no longer needed we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

Keeping it safe

We protect the information we hold by commercially reasonable means against loss, theft, and unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or alteration. No method of transmitting or storing information electronically is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we will comply with the law that applies to us in the event of a data breach.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information about them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can use this site without giving us any personal information at all. If you have given us some and you want to see it, correct it, or have it deleted, write to us at the address below and we will deal with your request. We will not treat you differently for asking.

If you have previously agreed to receive marketing email from us, every message includes a way to unsubscribe.

Other websites

This site links to websites we do not operate. We have no control over their content or their privacy practices and we cannot accept responsibility for them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to the law. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and post the new version here. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you.
